HintAssignment

Struct HintAssignment

Source
pub struct HintAssignment {
    pub hints: Vec<WindowHint>,
}
Expand description

Result of hint assignment

Contains all window hints generated from a window list, maintaining MRU (Most Recently Used) order for Alt+Tab behavior.

§Examples

use open_sesame::core::{HintAssignment, Window, AppId};

let windows = vec![
    Window::new("win-1", "firefox", "Tab 1"),
    Window::new("win-2", "firefox", "Tab 2"),
    Window::new("win-3", "ghostty", "Terminal"),
];

// Assign hints using a key lookup function
let assignment = HintAssignment::assign(&windows, |app_id| {
    match app_id.as_str() {
        "firefox" => Some('f'),
        "ghostty" => Some('g'),
        _ => None,
    }
});

assert_eq!(assignment.hints().len(), 3);

// Check assigned hints
let hint_strings: Vec<_> = assignment.hints()
    .iter()
    .map(|h| h.hint_string())
    .collect();

assert!(hint_strings.contains(&"f".to_string()));
assert!(hint_strings.contains(&"ff".to_string()));
assert!(hint_strings.contains(&"g".to_string()));

Fields§

§hints: Vec<WindowHint>

Assigned hints sorted by hint string

Implementations§

Source§

impl HintAssignment

Source

pub fn assign<F>(windows: &[Window], key_for_app: F) -> Self
where F: Fn(&AppId) -> Option<char>,

Creates a new hint assignment from windows.

Uses a key lookup function to determine the base hint for each app.

Source

pub fn hints(&self) -> &[WindowHint]

Get all hints

Source

pub fn find_by_window_id(&self, id: &WindowId) -> Option<&WindowHint>

Find a hint by window ID

where T: Any,

§

fn into_any(self: Box<T>) -> Box<dyn Any>

Convert Box<dyn Trait> (where Trait: Downcast) to Box<dyn Any>. Box<dyn Any> can then be further downcast into Box<ConcreteType> where ConcreteType implements Trait.
§

fn into_any_rc(self: Rc<T>) -> Rc<dyn Any>

Convert Rc<Trait> (where Trait: Downcast) to Rc<Any>. Rc<Any> can then be further downcast into Rc<ConcreteType> where ConcreteType implements Trait.
§

fn as_any(&self) -> &(dyn Any + 'static)

Convert &Trait (where Trait: Downcast) to &Any. This is needed since Rust cannot generate &Any’s vtable from &Trait’s.
§

fn as_any_mut(&mut self) -> &mut (dyn Any + 'static)

Convert &mut Trait (where Trait: Downcast) to &Any. This is needed since Rust cannot generate &mut Any’s vtable from &mut Trait’s.
